Posting Date: August 15, 2008, 2008 Position to be filled: Development Assistant The YWCA is seeking a Development Assistant who will report to the Director of Development and Chief of Staff. The primary function is to support development projects not limited to fundraising events, donor database management, membership appeals and donor acknowledgments. The Assistant will also assist with general correspondence and writing projects for public relations materials as well as grants. This position requires occasional evening and/or weekend hours as the Assistant will serve as a representative of the YWCA at various events, conferences, and promotional programs. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and must be able to juggle various projects at one time. A BA and 2-3 years professional experience either in a corporate or non-profit setting is essential. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point), demonstrate proficiency in mail merges and be familiar with database management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree and preferably, a Masters degree in Business Administration or Public Administration with a minimum of 5 years management /development experience. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as being technologically savvy with knowledge of Excel, Access and/or other fundraising software systems is essential.
